Corporate Social Responsibility or the social responsibility of the business means a conception of behaviour owing to which firms or companies at the stage of forming strategies on their own good will and take into consideration selected social interests, interests of their employees, and environmental protection, too. By now, a majority of the managerial staff in Poland is aware that the CSR actions are very important. This way of thinking is fully justified since initiatives and long-term, strategic programmes connected with business activities strengthen the market value of the firm and its brand. It finds its expression, among others, in a greater consumers’ loyalty and a better penetration of the market that exceeds the normal bookkeeping value.
Edelman is pro publico bono partner of the World-Wide Coalition in matters of HIV/AIDS (GBC) since its very beginning. The purpose and aim of this organisation is to give support to the world-wide business community aiming to stop the HIV epidemic – a disease; 40 million people being afflicted with the disease at present. The Edelman is in a close co-operation with GBC (Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS) by supporting international corporations in their actions against the spread of virus and the protection of its own employees and the whole community everywhere their companies and firms exist and work.
